Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

PromptFox is a product of Library of Apps. We provide a Chrome browser extension that enhances prompts on AI platforms, and a companion website at promptfox.libraryofapps.com. Questions? Email us at support@libraryofapps.com.

2. What data we collect

  • Email address — collected when you register for the free tier or purchase a paid plan. Used to track your weekly usage quota and deliver your license key.
  • Usage count — we store how many prompt enhancements you have used this week, keyed to your email, in our database. This resets every 7 days.
  • Payment data — handled entirely by Creem.io. We never see or store your card details.
  • Prompt content — the text you choose to enhance is sent to our API solely to perform the enhancement. We do not log, store, or train on your prompt content.
  • IP address — used transiently for rate limiting. Not stored persistently.

3. What data we do NOT collect

  • We do not read, intercept, or transmit any content on the AI platform pages beyond what you explicitly send to enhance.
  • We do not track your browsing history, tabs, or activity on third-party sites.
  • We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
  • We do not use cookies for tracking.

4. Chrome Extension permissions

The extension requests the following permissions:

  • activeTab / scripting — to inject the PromptFox pill button into the AI platform input box. Only runs on the sites listed in our manifest (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, Perplexity, Mistral, Grok).
  • storage — to store your plan status, settings, and prompt history locally on your device using chrome.storage.local. This data never leaves your browser except as described above.

5. How we use your data

  • To enforce the weekly free-tier usage quota.
  • To deliver license keys and send transactional emails (purchase confirmation, welcome email).
  • To provide customer support when you contact us.

6. Data retention

Usage records are kept as long as you have an active account. If you request deletion, we will remove your email and usage data within 30 days. Email support@libraryofapps.com to request deletion.

7. Third-party services

  • Creem.io — payment processing. Subject to their own privacy policy.
  • MongoDB Atlas — database hosting on servers in the United States.
  • Groq / Google Gemini — AI inference providers used as a fallback chain to process your prompt. Prompts are sent to these services but are subject to their zero-data-retention or standard API policies. We do not pass your email or identity to them.
  • Vercel — website and API hosting.

8. Security

Your free-tier token is an HMAC-signed value — it cannot be forged or tampered with. Payments are handled by Creem.io over TLS. We use HTTPS for all API communication. Webhook authenticity is verified via HMAC-SHA256 signatures.

9. Children

PromptFox is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we'll update the effective date above. Continued use of PromptFox after changes constitutes acceptance.
